Uncle Hansi's Sweets

Jean Jacques Waltz alias " Hansi " or " Uncle Hansi " was born in Colmar in 1873. Illustrator, caricaturist and watercolorist, Hansi is the most popular picture artist in Alsace.

His drawings, which often feature children, are very modern representations of an Alsace proud of its traditions, the qualities of its land and its products.

The Uncle Hansi , who died in 1951, shared with us through his books, engravings, posters, advertisements and signs, his love of Alsace.
